America's Most Popular Baby Names of 2024

It's official: Olivia and Noah are keeping their titles as the No. 1 girl and boy names among BabyCenter parents.

In fact, almost every top 10 name from 2023 is holding steady in 2024 – with some noteworthy exceptions. Ellie joins the top 10 girl names for the first time ever at No. 9, bumping Evelyn down to No. 11. And Asher is back in the top 10 boy names at No. 9 after a year away, while Luca is out at No. 12.

Other changes in the top 10 are small – in fact, the top seven boy names are exactly the same as last year. (In order, that's Noah, Liam, Oliver, Elijah, Mateo, Lucas, and Levi.) The only shakeup is in the bottom three, where Ezra rose one spot to No. 8, Asher rose two spots to No. 9, and Leo fell two spots to No. 10.

The top 10 girl names saw a little bit more movement, but not much. Amelia and Emma switched spots – Amelia is now No. 2, and Emma is No. 3. Sophia and Charlotte are the same at Nos. 4 and 5, while Isabella (No. 6) and Ava (No. 7) traded spots. Mia is steady at No. 8. Ellie made the biggest jump, from No. 15 to No. 9. And finally, Luna fell one spot to No. 10.

There are a few names on the list that made BabyCenter history, reaching the top 100 for the first time: Walker (No. 79), Bennett (No. 84), and Adriel (No. 100) for boys; and Ember (No. 90) and Oakley (No. 96) for girls.

Meanwhile, a few longtime favorites have fallen out of the top 100 names: Kayden (No. 101), Dominic (No. 113), and Aaron (No. 120) are out for boys; while Eva (No. 105) and Jasmine (No. 122) dropped out for girls.

And after being a mainstay in the top 100 girl names for more than 60 years, Sarah is out at No. 108.
