Living alone, feeling closed off and lonely, Arizona resident Renee Pioli decided to set up a live chat room in order to reconnect with the world. So, she put a chair in her front yard, opened her window and put up a sign. Pretty quickly neighbours and total strangers started dropping by to chat and everyone, on both sides of the window, started feeling less isolated and a lot more connected. All agreeing that there's no substitute for genuine human interaction - and this inspired idea is safe and easy to try.
