For only the second time, an artist has surpassed 20 billion streams in a single year on Spotify.

This remarkable achievement once again belongs to Taylor Swift, who accumulated a staggering 28.21 billion plays, driven by her incredible catalog and the massive success of her album The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift’s total is more than double that of the runner-up, Canadian superstar The Weeknd - who can probably take consolation from fact that he still has the most-streamed song on Spotify. Namely, Blinding Lights, with 4,648,165,127 streams… and counting. Want to listen to it? Click here.

Following closely behind on the 2024 list of most streamed artists are Drake and Bad Bunny, making the top four identical to last year’s rankings, though in a slightly different order.

Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande had fabulous years, climbing from outside the top 15 in 2023 to positions 5 and 6 in 2024. Both broke the 10 billion streams milestone, cementing their place among the year’s top performers.

So, who are the Top 10? The list below shows position achieved (before their position last year).

10 (NE) Bruno Mars – 8.36 billion streams

9 (17) Travis Scott – 8.41 billion streams
